Sanding & Cleaning
When you move into an older home, you may notice straight away the condition of the walls and how bumpy, warped and cracked they are. Often times, that may not even be the fault of time taking its toll on the walls. A big factor to the longevity of a wall comes from the surface preparation its had before it gets painted. If not enough time and energy has gone into the way that a wall has been prepped, the paint can decay and cause the wall to undergo all sorts of unwanted changes, leaving you with a surface that is not pleasing to the eye. Hire a professional to deal with your walls properly and make sure that they are prepped according to the needs of the specific paint or surface treatment that they will have on them.
Dustless Sanding Machines
If you’ve ever had renovations done to your house you’ll be familiar with the feeling of finding dust all throughout your home. It can take months for you to stop tasting dust with every meal, long after the builders and contractors have left your home. Thankfully, Evanston Drywall have access to dustless sanding machines, that use advanced technology to suck up all the dust as it is created during sanding, so you don’t have to worry about your morning cup of coffee tasting like its full of drywall.
Perfectly Smooth Surfaces
The secret to smooth and perfect walls, surprisingly, is requiring less sanding. We know what you’re thinking - isn't sanding what makes it smooth? But in fact, the drywall itself is perfectly smooth out of the factory, adding the mud is what causes it to become lumpy and bumpy, which then requires sanding to smooth it out. Our secret is that we are strategic in our methods, making sure that the bare minimum of mud is used on the walls so that the smoothness of the drywall boards is maintained and sanding is kept to a minimum.
Environmentally Friendly Materials and Chemicals
Walking past a construction site, it’s hard not to think of the implications behind the big volumes of dust that get sent in the air when a house is being constructed, not to mention all the chemicals that are used during the build. That's something that we are definitely conscious of and have put a lot of effort into trying to be mindful for the environment around us. We use environmentally friendly products wherever possible, and always go the extra length to dispose of our waste responsibly.
Once the sanding has been completed, its up to the surface prep to make sure that your wall is ready for whatever is going to go on top of it. There are so many different types of paint and surface coatings on the market and they all require slightly different prepared surfaces, so we work with you and your painters to make sure the walls are in the perfect condition ready for their next step when we are done.
